"We've been scenting the cats for a couple days now don't you think we should be a little more careful?"
Moony followed behind Mirage as she charged ahead more confidently.
"Well we haven't seen any cats yet have we so we are fine for now." she paused in front of a tree. "But if you like I'll take a look." Her eyes scanned the trunk before she suddenly leapt up and clawed her way up the bark to the first level of branches. Then she began to jump form branch to branch on her way up.
Moony stayed at the base and scanned the horizon, keeping watch. "But what if it is what you think it might be, what you told me. Clans?"
"Moony who told you those stories?"
"You did Mirage of course." He was unsure what her point would be.
"Well then dont worry, out of the two of us I know all you know and more."
"Yeah but if it's what you say they are a large group, larger than anything we've ever encountered." He couldn't help being a little nervous they were only two cats after all.
"We'll deal with that when we come to it."
Moony looked up and Mirage was way into the upper branches bobbing and staring out in the distance. He trusted her with his life but he also knew she could be a little too brave beyond her abilities. He hoped they weren't setting themselves up to be shredded by a so-called clan. After wandering for so long he knew that she craved social interaction with other cats even if it would cost them a fight.
