Ivypaw looked around the camp quickly before pelting from the apprentices' den to the camp entrance. She knew very well that there was probably something she should have been doing, but blowing off her apprentice duties was one of the things that this apprentice did well. Not that that was a good thing, but hey, everyone has their little talents.
The gray and orange apprentice smirked to herself as she trotted away from the camp with a cocky bounce to her step. Generally, she was able to leave camp without being noticed, but there was the rare occasion when someone saw her leave. She didn't bother to cover her tracks or make sure no one was following her as she made her way deeper into RiverClan territory.
Her pale green eyes flicked to look to her side and she paused midstep, one of her front paws hovering in the air. A large boulder had caught her attention and, slowly, a mischievous grin graced her muzzle. She turned her body to face it and lowered herself to the ground as if she was preparing to hunt the boulder. She waggled her rump and pushed herself forward with powerful hind paws. She landed just before she ran nose first into the large rock and bunched her muscles again before springing on top of the boulder.
It took her a moment to get her footing and her tail stuck straight out behind her to help her balance. When she was sure she wasn't about to fall over, she straightened up and her tail shot up proudly. She was queen of this boulder until she thought of something better to do with her time.

[/i] She thought, not moving. The finch she had been stalking hasn't seen or smelled anything, so the ginger she-apprentice could afford a few moments of speculation. She had to forcefully stop herself from jerking back in surprise when she identified the scent as Ivypaw's. 'Now what is she doing out all on her lonesome?' she thought. Remembering her finch, she pulled herself forward a few steps and pounced on it, killing the bird before it could make any noise. Still in her hunter's crouch, Lilypaw kept down-wind of Ivypaw and paused when she saw the other apprentice. She stifled a purr of amusement when Ivypaw leaped on top of the boulder. "Having fun?" She called out, stepping calmly into fulk view.[/blockquote] [/ul]

Ivypaw was in her own little world, pretending to be queen of the rock when she thought she heard something. It was a soft noise, almost like the fluttering of feathers somewhere nearby. She shrugged it off and turned her attention back to sniffing around the top of the rock. After all, she wasn't out here to hunt, she was out here to blow off her duties and have fun. Hunting was more of an obligation to the Clan the way Ivypaw saw it. If she wasn't hungry, she shouldn't have to hunt.
Having fun? The voice scared Ivypaw so bad, she nearly fell off the boulder...almost. She gripped the stone with her claws and turned around to face Lilypaw. The way the fur along her spine bristled along with the sparkling of her eyes betrayed her surprise. She thought for a moment that she had been caught shirking her responsibilities, but she visibly relaxed when she saw it was only Lilypaw.
She gave her denmate a sheepish smile and tried to appear more confident as she responded. "Yeah I'm having fun. It's great up here, you should try it sometimes," she mewed, sticking her tail straight up proudly.
