\--\-----------------------------------------------------/--/ Oakstripe padded into ShadowClan camp, a skinny rabbit and a plump squirrel in his jaws. If the rabbit had been plumper, it would have been more difficult to carry, but the tom wasn't complaing.
The young warrior glanced back to see his hunting parner Blackrose padding up behind him, she too had caught some prey, one being a raven. His green/yellow eyes were clear and bright, as he padded toward the freash-kill pile. He dropped the rabbit and squirrle gingerly and looked over his shoulder at Blackrose, tail twitching. His eyes then returned to look over the camp. His whiskers twitched as he wondered vaguely where his sister Foxtail was resting. If she was resting was the real question though.
Scenting the air, the russet furred tom could pick up the scents of a patrol, they must have left awhile back, before he had come back from his hunt with Blackrose. Blinking, Oakstripe stretched, his muscles loosening up abit. \--\-----------------------------------------------------/--/ the ooc// progress; done muse; going good post directed to; anyone who comes up to him mood of character(Oakstripe); cool and casual notes: meeep

Blackrose had managed to track down and catch a couple lizards on the way back and they hung by their tails from her jaws. Her raven was rather large already, so she was finding some difficulty walking, but nothing she couldn't handle. But she was still relieved when they made back to camp. She dumped her catch on the pile and looked up at Oakstripe, stretching her jaw slightly.
She shook her head a bit and gave a sheepish grin. "Big bird," she explained, opening her jaw again to stretch the strained muscles. She looked at her mud streaked sides and sighed. "Looks like I have my work cut out for me if I ever want to get clean," she meowed with a light laugh. She wasn't to keen on rolling around in any streams, so she'd have to get grooming soon if she didn't want to go to bed dirty. She glanced up as she heard the call of another cat.
"Oakstripe!" a voice called from somewhere near the edge of camp. A cat that could've been Oakstripe's mirror image was approaching the two hunters. Well, she could've been Oakstripe's mirror if Oakstripe was round, heavy with unborn kits like this she-cat. Foxtail's eyes glinted in a mixture of happiness that her brother was back and left over annoyance that he hadn't taken her with them. Any scent of the nursery on her thick russet colored pelt was faint, making it obvious that she hadn't been inside the nursery for a while.
She greeted the pair with a warm purr. "You're back! How was your hunt? What happened?" she asked, looking from Blackrose to Oakstripe as if expecting an answer from either cat. The round queen sat down, taking on a pear shape and curled her plumed tail around her paws.
As much as she was looking forward to her coming litter, she was still disappointed that she couldn't shadow her twin brother like she used to. However, being so heavily pregnant wouldn't stop her. Just this morning, she'd insisted on going with him. The only reason she'd stayed behind was because of her brother's request that she rest. She'd stay in camp, but she wouldn't promise anything about rest.

\--\-----------------------------------------------------/--/ Oakstripe stood up straight and looked at Blackrose as she approached and dumped her prey on the pile gratefully. He gave her an amused look when she explained her mud-splatted fur to groom. your still pretty though. He wanted to say, but decided not too.
His eyes darted toward an approaching form as he heard his sister's sweet voice call. He smiled toothily as she padded over, her plump belly quite obvious, it was close for her kits to arrive, any day now. He purred a greeting to his twin and sat down slowly. "The prey ran pretty well..." He meowed casually, sending a sideways glance at Blackrose, making a little pun out of that comment. His eyes went back to Foxtail as he spoke once more.
"I caught a rabbit, and Blackrose caught a raven." He went on, voice rumbling in his throat. He didn't dare say that he had crossed the border to WIndClan accidentally, and knew Blackrose wouldn't say anything either. It was their little secret. His ears flicked as he studied his sister, "Did you rest like I told you?" He asked curiously, eyes soft and kind. He guessed right away that she probably hadn't, by the lack smell of nursery on her fur, it was apparent she had just wandered around the camp. He sat patiently, tail flicking as it drew over his paws. He mirrored Foxtail exactly, the only different was that their was a size different, and he wasn't carrying kits. \--\-----------------------------------------------------/--/ the ooc// progress; done muse; going good post directed to; Blackrose&Foxtail mood of character(Oakstripe); cool and casual notes: meeep

Blackrose's whiskers twitched in amusement as she noticed the lack of nursery scent on Foxtail's fur and the flash of guilt through the heavy queen's eyes. She sat still and remained silent as she watched the exchange between the siblings.
It was times like this that the black and white she-cat often found herself wishing that she had siblings that she shared such a close bond with. She gave a soft sigh as she reminded herself that she was an only kit. Her attention was drawn back to the present when Foxtail's voice chimed again.
Foxtail purred proudly when her brother mentioned the rabbit. "A rabbit? Hmm, a rare treat for ShadowClan," she commented happily, glancing at the fresh kill pile for a second. Her attention was forced back to Oakstripe at his next question. She stiffened slightly, trying to find a tactful way that she hadn't rested like he'd told her to.
She turned her head back to her twin with a cheery smile. "You told me to rest?" she asked innocently. All else fails, play stupid, that's what she figured. She glanced at Blackrose with a sheepish smile when the older she-cat stifled a laugh and hid it with a small cough.
"Why should I be resting?" she asked, only half serious. She recognized the need to rest when she was so close to her kitting, but she was just to stubborn and full of energy to sit still. She would rest later, like when she was actually sleepy.

\--\-----------------------------------------------------/--/ Oakstripe blinked at his sister slowly as she mentioned he hadn't told her to rest. He suppressed a sigh when she shot a sheepish grin over at Blackrose. typical Foxtail...
The russet warrior ignored Blackrose's, 'cough' and smiled at Foxtail, or actually, giving her one of his many, 'you-know-I'm-right', looks he always gave her when his dear sister was being...ahem, a stubborn fox.
"First off, I did tell you to rest" he started, stating the obvious, "..and second of all, you should be resting because when those kits come, you'll need every ounce of energy..." He trailed off, thinking it was pointless to try and explain to his hard-headed sibling about why she should be taking this kit business seriously.
Giving his shoulder fur a quick lick, the young warrior sighed absently and glanced off toward the warrior's den, not looking for anyone particular. After a heart-beat, the tom looked back at Foxtail, face skeptical; "Have you eaten yet?" He meowed to his twin, ears twitching as he glanced down at the pretty big pile of fresh-kill.

Oakstripe mentioned that she'd need her energy for when her kits came and a slight smile graced the pretty she-cat's face. If she had a more determined and tricky personality, she'd pretend her kitting had started just to give her brother a good scare. However, that would take too much effort to keep the ruse going long enough and she was feeling rather lazy at the moment even though she refused to rest like instructed.
Instead, she rolled her yellow eyes and shook her head slightly. "I think you worry to much, Oakstripe," she mewed mildly. She shrugged one shoulder. At least one of them was fretting.
She followed his gaze to the fresh-kill pile and her eyes lit up hungrily. "No, I haven't. Do you want to share your rabbit?" she asked. She tilted her head a bit as she looked back to her brother. If he wouldn't share with her, perhaps she could get Blackrose to share the rabbit with her. All she knew was she probably couldn't finish it alone.

Her eyes narrowed curiously at her brother's annoyed meow. But the gloves came off when Oakstripe suggested that she might prefer sharing the rabbit with Darkpuddle. It wasn't so much the words that irked her as the way he said them. She was hurt at first and answered in a sulky tone. "I can't find him...I haven't seen him today," she mumbled. The sad expression at her twin's snide remark about her made was replaced almost immediately with a look of severe annoyance.
Her tail lashed once as she prepared her response. "Then you should obviously stop worrying. Since it obviously causes so much trouble," she snapped. She disliked arguing with Oakstripe, but she wouldn't just let him get away with sassing her like he had.
"But, if all you can do is badmouth the father of my kits, then I'll leave you to it," she mewed curtly. She spun around and marched back towards the nursery. She was sure Oakstripe knew how she felt when he implied that Darkpuddle was a bad choice for a mate, but that didn't necessarily stop him from saying things like that. Though she was very irritated right now, she knew somewhere in the back of her mind she couldn't stay mad at him for very long. She could just pout while she was still in a foul mood and they would make up and forgive each other later.
Blackrose was beginning to feel uncomfortable at Oakstripe's first comment. She knew she'd be offended if she was Foxtail. If someone said something like that about her mate when she was about to give birth to his kits, she'd claw their ears off. Then again, Foxtail was generally a more docile she-cat. She grew even more uncomfortable at the queen's reaction.
The black and white she-cat gazed after Foxtail when she stormed back towards the nursery and offered a weak smile when she turned back to Oakstripe. "At least she might get some rest now, hmm?" she mewed with a light chuckle.
She paused for a moment before clearing her throat and speaking again. "Do you always argue like that?" she asked. It wasn't an attempt at small talk, she was genuinely curious. The twins were not cats she talked to on a regular basis and when she did hang out with them, they seemed to get along without too much bickering.

Oakstripe felt slightly sad for his sister, Darkpuddle really didn't come and spend time with his mate as much as he should be. Plus, that tom really wasn't the nicest of all, and the reason Oakstripe disliked him so much was because of how he treated his sister. He wanted her to have a caring and nice mate, not one that never was around to be there for Foxtail. Frankly, Oakstripe was the only one that should get be able to disrespect her.
Wait that didn't sound too right, did it? Oh well, sounded okay to Oakstripe's ears. The tom's ears prickled as, of course, Foxtail went off on him for backsassing her mate.
His tail too lashed as she said he should stop worrying over her. "It's my job." He hissed, eyes showing irritation at his twin.
His eyes narrowed as she turned her back on him. "Fine." he meowed curtly after her. Like he cared? If she wanted to be the mate of that jerk, then she could. They were her kits, not his, so he just hoped they didn't have all their parent's bad attitudes.
Turning his face away from where Foxtail padded off to, Oakstripe let out a sigh. He really hated arguing with Foxtail, and usually he was the one to bring it on, thanks to his big mouth. His ears twitched as he heard Blackrose attempt to ligten the air.
A light chuckle escaped his lips as she spoke, "Doubt it." He mewed shortly, turning to stare at the she-cat. Eyes showing amusment at her next comment, the tom shrugged and sighed once more. "Not always, just on special occasions." He meowed obviously, acting as if it was no big deal. "We just disagree on things is all..." he began, voice trailing away as he thought of things.
"And...I guess I go too far sometimes...I need to watch me mouth." The tom said, tail flicking as he looked away and stared down at his paws. Ears drooping, Oakstripe sighed and stretched, "I just wish Foxtail had a better mate than Darkpuddle..." He mummbled, tail curling up as he straightned and ears perked, "But I shouldn't be so judgemental I guess." He meowed lightly, chuckling once more as he debated with himself. Eyes turning back on Blackrose, he paused to see if she'd say anything.

Blackrose nodded slightly at Oakstripe's answers. She looked to the nursery in time to see the tip of Foxtail's russet colored tail vanish through the entrance. She sighed and turned back towards the tom beside her. To be perfectly honest, she wasn't that big of a fan of Foxtail's mate either. She just wasn't close enough with the queen to try and talk sense into her and steer her away from Darkpuddle.
If it was one thing Blackrose could relate to, it was taking things too far. It was something she did more often then she cared to admit. It was a bad habit that could get a cat into quite a deal of trouble and she was glad to learn that she wasn't the only mousebrain that took things too far. She thought quietly for a moment before addressing Oakstripe's last statement.
"You can be judgmental if you want to be. I always say that you shouldn't change your thoughts and personality for another cat," she meowed. To her, the solution was simple. It occurred to the dark pelted warrior that her little motto might be different when applied to siblings as close as Oakstripe and Foxtail. She wouldn't know because she's never really known what it's like to have siblings. It had really just been just Blackrose by herself for most of her life.
