Short Description:
Full Appearance:
Poppyfire's fur is short and grows close to her body. And while it is a pleasant shade of dusty brown, it does little for keeping her warm in the colder months. Her fur is like a gradient color scale, fading from almost black on her the lower part of her spine and the back of her tail to nearly white on her chest, belly and muzzle with brown in between. It looks like her paws are trimmed with black between her toes and on the backs of her legs, fading out around the knees.

::Eyes::
Poppyfire's eyes are large and almond shaped. The oriental blood in her shows itself strong in the shape of her eyes. Her eyes are a light brown most of the time. Depending on her mood, her eye color can turn from a dark brown when she's angry to amber when she's depressed. They always seem to be bright, no matter the situation.

::Build::
Once again, Poppyfire's oriental blood shows in the way her body is put together. She is tall, with long, thin legs and a long body. Her tail is proportionate to her body, but may seem short beside her long legs. Her paws are small and dainty and her head is somewhat wedge shaped. Her ears are a bit big and sit right on top of her head. She has an almost delicate appearance, but is deceivingly sturdy. Her claws are light tan and short, but they're still sharp.

History:
Poppykit was born to two ThunderClan warriors. Her father never visited her much and he seemed largely disinterested as his daughter grew up. Poppykit had no siblings and only had other kits in the nursery and her mother to play with. She grew up shy because of the lack of playmates growing up. She spent a lot of her time in the nursery and didn't come out into camp very often.

::Apprenticeship::
Poppykit became Poppypaw at six months, nothing out of the ordinary. She started her training as a warrior and soon found that she was unhappy with that path. Her mentor often called her soft or useless in an attempt to spur her into action during her training, but it only made her feel insecure and worthless as a warrior apprentice. With the sudden growth in the amount of denmates, Poppypaw came out of her shell and developed a spunky, if not somewhat snappy personality. During a training session with a particularly rough mentor, the apprentice she was sparring with ripped a claw through her shoulder. The wound was deep and she was laid up in the medicine den for about a week, but her shoulder was scarred. It was during her stay in the medicine den that she started thinking she might be happier training to heal than to fight, but she didn't do anything about it, she just continued her training. She only did this because she was too timid to upset the status quo by asking the older more powerful cats to switch her path. She didn't want her mentor to get mad at her if she chose to abandon her warrior training halfway through. She tried to convince herself that hers was the way of the warrior and struggled through the rest of her training.

::Path of a Medicine Cat::
Poppyfire completed her warrior training and was a warrior for only a couple days. One night she had a dream where she was the medicine cat's apprentice, happily sorting herbs and helping to heal her Clanmates. When she woke up, she knew that she couldn't lie to herself anymore. She wasn't happy being a warrior so she asked to become the medicine cat's apprentice. She visited StarClan a few days later, they accepted her and she started her training as a medicine cat. She quickly found that she was happier with medicine cat training. She found it easier to remember different types of herbs then particular ways of fighting she learned. That isn't to say she has forgotten how to fight, oh no. She can fight successfully alongside any warrior, she simply chooses not to. One day, she was left alone in the medicine den while her mentor went out into the forest. Her mentor didn't return before dark and Poppyfire began to worry. They sent out a search patrol the next morning and found the medicine cat's body when the scent of a badger all around it. Poppyfire was devastated at the loss of her mentor, but took a bit comfort in the fact that her mentor had left her with everything she needed to know to effectively serve her Clan. So she took over as full medicine cat of ThunderClan and here she is today.
