Onestar ----If I Go Crazy--- Amber eyes were slanted against the light as the sun began its slow climb into the sky. It was still early enough that frost glittered on the ground and walls of the camp only adding to the blinding reflect of the light as the frost twinkled and flashed. Onestar was up early this morning for no real reason. He had been fast asleep in his nice warm nest and then the next moment he'd been wide awake. It had still been dark when the white leader had left his den and had a bit of breakfast. He had been pleased to see that, even early in the morning, the fresh-kill was relatively full. He guessed he'd had some sleepless warriors that had been out hunting.
Though the weather was still rather nippy, it was warming up fast. He could barely see his breath in front of his muzzle anymore and his fur was fluffed up a bit against the temperature. Last night had been an unseasonably cold one, but since he'd managed to sleep all night, he couldn't care less about the temperature. His dark amber gaze was fixed calmly on the sky, watching intently as it slowly started to change from pink to orange. Soon it would turn blue and then he could speak to his deputy about the patrols for the day. The dawn patrol would probably be heading out soon and by now, he was just waiting for signs of life from the warriors' and apprentices' dens.
The large white tom's jaw split in a wide yawn, his fangs catching in light before he stood up. He stretched his front paws forward and lowered his chest to the ground to stretch. He completed the stretch by extending his claws, snorting softly as he looked at his right paw and the single claw that adorned it. With a sigh, he sheathed his claws and stood up straight. After a slight pause, he slowly started meandering around the camp to wake himself up and get a bit warmer. He'd discovered a long time ago that when you rise with the sun, you get to spend your mornings in lonely silence until your Clanmates actually start stirring at a more reasonable time of day.
He passed the nursery pausing for a moment to drink in the faint milky scent. A gentle smile crossed his face as he heard the sleepy mumble of a kit and the soothing reply of the kit's mother as she told him to go back to sleep. The thought of his days in the nursery with Dovefeather soothed him and almost made him sleepy until he kept walking. He walked passed the warriors' den and then the apprentices' den and didn't hear much of anything just yet. After a complete lap around the camp, he went back towards his den.

____________________________Don't let the Nettle sting the Paw .! Medicine Cat Apprentice of Shadowclan .!____________________________A large tabby shouldered to the entrance of the medicine cat den, pausing in it's loom for just a heart beat. Despite the fact this was an apprentice, Nettlepaw always had a large stocky build, promising to be a lethally large feline at his full grown size.
Amber eyes flickered about the sleepy clearing aimless. It was near deserted. The tabby gave a snort of disapproval. "Lazy warriors, should learn to get their furry butts up before sun high." Nettlepaw grumbled to himself, stalking further into the heart of the clearing.
There was, however, one cat that had risen. The white tom was mighty, and respected by many. This was leader of Shadowclan, of course, Onestar. Nettlepaw hesitated, Onestar was retreated back toward his den. Probably lonely without the bustles of his followers. Nettlepaw thought.
He considered leaving the leader to go. Then it occurred that Nettlepaw would be lonely, then. And with a sigh, the large tabby trotted after his leader. "You're not retreating back to your den already now are you, Onestar?" The medicine cat apprentice meowed after the white leader.

Onestar ----If I Go Crazy--- His ears turned back towards the cat that had addressed him before the rest of him did. It only took him a heartbeat to recognize Nettlepaw's voice before he turned around to greet the young medicine cat with a smile. "I thought I might go back inside to sit and think a bit before the warriors start waking up," he explained with a nonchalant shrug. "I can't exactly say that the camp is very interesting with no other cat up to to talk to." He didn't continue his thought, figuring that he would know what it was like to be in the camp alone. From general past experiences, medicine cats seemed to be up when no one else was more often then other cats did.
He took a moment to examine Nettlepaw and noticed just how much he'd been growing. He'd always been a bit on the big side compared to other cats his age, but he'd started growing into his adult size and Onestar honestly wouldn't be surprised if the young medicine cat grew to be just as big or bigger than the white leader himself.
"So, Nettlepaw. What brings you out into the camp so early?" he asked. It was a mild attempt to make conversation, but an attempt nonetheless. But part of him was also slightly curious. He hadn't expected to see any cat up just yet, let alone one of the younger members. He was momentarily proud that he had such a diligent cat serving the Clan but he had to remind himself that there might be another reason he was awake.

____________________________Don't let the Nettle sting the Paw .! Medicine Cat Apprentice of Shadowclan .!____________________________The great white leader turned to face the tabby, a greeting smile spread across his maw. Onestar responded evenly, as casual as a leader could get. Nettlepaw nodded, shrugging in agreement. To be honest, he preferred it most when the camp was hollow. Sure, and few cats, like Onestar, he didn't mind. But when those annoying kits woke up, and the elders started becoming snappish, Nettlepaw found himself wishing for the next dawn to come, and for the silence to return.
After a slight moments pause, and Nettlepaw wasn't speaking up, Onestar went on again. The tabby's whiskers quivered for a moment, amber eyes searching the leader's expression. Was he curious? Was he suspicious? Was he disappointed? Nettlepaw couldn't tell, but he finally summed up a brief reply. "This is my favorite time of day. There's no caterwaul, or annoying warriors. I wouldn't waste my time sleeping." Nettlepaw informed, flicking his tail up. "And why are you up so early?" The medicine cat apprentice questioned.

Onestar smiled slightly and nodded. As near as he could tell, that was typical of many medicine cats. Personally, he loved he hustle and bustle of camp in the day time. But for a medicine cat that was in the medicine den or out in the swamp for a greater part of the day, he wasn't surprised. As a leader he loved being with his Clan.
He brought his attention back to Nettlepaw when he asked his question. "Well, it just happened like this. Normally I'm not up quite this early," he meowed with a chuckle. "Are you always up this early?" he asked, a genuine curious tone in his voice.
He felt slightly guilty that he wasn't up to know the general schedules of all his Clanmates. But hey, when one needs sleep, they need sleep. Sometimes he actually enjoyed waking up early enough to watch the camp slowly come to life like it was doing. He heard a small rustle from within the nursery and guessed that the queen Foxtail must be waking. And more and more noise was beginning to come from the warriors den. "Looks like cats will be on their way out of their nests any time now," he commented with a satisfied smile.
