gotta keep going just continue growing before it's too late to run from what's gonna come \\--------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------------------// Rushingstar padded onward toward the river border with her apprentice, Seapaw. The young she-cat glanced behind to see that the blue furred feline wasn't keeping up. "Come on Seapaw! Are your paws coated in honey? Pick up the pace!" She called over her shoulder lightly, tail twitching.
The lilac she-cat jumped onto a log and turned and waited for Seapaw. This was their first training session, and Rushingstar's goal today was to teach her the borders, first border was Thunderclan's. She didn't tell Seapaw where they were going, so she hoped her apprentice would be able to pick out the scents well enough to tell what clan lived across the river. the ooc// progress; finished muse; gosh, it's going down talking to; Seapaw mood of character(Rushingstar); ready to train this kat! lol notes; ugh, this post was terrible. ((*raises eyebrow* Seapaw is 8 moons old, along with her sisters. She already knows the borders.))Seapaw followed after her leader and mentor, keeping a respectful distance away from her. She looked around the area discreetly, recognizing the surrounding trees. The two RiverClan cats were nearing the ThunderClan border. Seapaw blinking in confusion. 'Why is Rushingstar taking me here?' She thought, not daring to question her leader aloud. 'Are we just patrolling? No, that doesn't make any sense at all. If we were patrolling, she'd have brought more than just the two of us.'
Her ears pricked up at Rushingstar's call, and Seapaw hurried her paws until she was a tail-length away from Rushingstar's tail. When her leader jumped on the log, Seapaw settled down on the ground, looking up at Rushingstar. "Rushingstar, if I may be so bold, why are we near the ThunderClan border?" She asked meekly. She didn't want to sound like she was going against her mentor. StarClan knew Lilypaw did that enough for the both of them!

ooc: -eyebrow raise as well- oh sorry then shine. xD I thought she was younger. -shrug- umkay, well disregard whatever was thought in that post. xp hmmmmmm. bic: Rushingstar waited, tail tip flicking back and fourth, on the log and then her eyes rested on an approaching Seapaw. Her head tilted to the side as Seapaw asked about why they wer there.
"I wanted to give a history lesson." She meowed, ears twitching as a small smile showed on the she-cat's face. Her eyes roamed over until she was looking straight across the river, staring directly as what Thunderclan called, Sunning Rocks. She could remember how many times that piece of territory had been fought over by Thunder and RiverClan alike. She didn't know if Seapaw knew this, and thought it was a neat bit of information to share with her apprentice.
"Besides, I didn't want us getting in the way of Fadingstorm's patrol by the WindClan border." She stated, giving her shoulder fur a lazy lick as she looked back at Seapaw, eyes calm as she waited for her to say something more. the ooc// progress; finished muse; staying neutral. xP talking to; Seapaw mood of character(Rushingstar); calm notes; meep Word Count; 161

Seapaw smiled politely and made a sound of comprehension, her eyes beginning to shine with an understanding. She nodded at the mention of Fadingstorm's patrol at WindClan's border; she remembered overhearing Rushingstar's conversation with the deputy when she was just waking up. She followed her mentor's gaze to a giant mass of gray boulders. A movement near the bottom of the stones caught her attention, and she focused her gaze on what seemed to be a mouse, running back to it's burrow.
She tilted her head toward Rushingstar, not turning away from the place. "Is that Sunningrocks?" She asked, curiously. "I remember listening to Minnowtail and Frostfoot talking about it when my littermates and I were kits, before they died. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's a disputed piece of territory that has been fought over for more moons than the oldest elder can remember." She looked at Rushingstar from the corner of her eye, looking for a reaction.

Rushingstar watched as Seapaw looked across the border. Her whiskers twitched as she listened to her apprentices' thoughts.
Nodding, the leader's eyes closed, "Yes. Both RiverClan and ThunderClan have fought over that piece of territory before, over and over." She let out a sigh and her dark blue eyes showed in thought. "Much unnecessary blood was shed on those lands....Blood that did not need to be." She meowed slowly, as if she were talking to herself for a few heart-beats.
Her eyes landed back on Seapaw's "RiverClan does not need such unacquainted hunting grounds. I just wish the past leaders had known that, and not been so mouse brained to start battles over it." She concluded, tail flicking back and fourth.
"But yes, I'm glad you knew about Sunning Rocks. You are quite the observer Seapaw." She commented her apprentice, eyes showing approval.
She stretched momently, clawing at the bark of the log. "I also wanted to teach you the most important RiverClan trait out there." She meowed smoothly, ears twitching. She waited to see what Seapaw would say or do from the corner of her dark blue orbs.
Every apprentice Rushingstar has trained always loved to learn to fish, it was always a fun experience to see how well they did their first try. Rushingstar had already taught the boring land hunting, which the clan rarely did, unless the river was frozen over, but now it was time for the real paw work. Seapaw's ears burned in a blush, and she ducked her head in embarrassment at Rushingstar's compliment. "Th-thank you, Rushingstar." She stammered, blush deepening. At Rushingstar's next words, though, her embarrassment was eaten up in a sudden wave of excitement. She knew exactly what her mentor was speaking about. "You mean I'm going to learn how to fish before Lilypaw?!" She exclaimed, eyes shining in mirth. "Ha, I'm so going to lord this over her head." She meowed.
An uncharacteristically evil grin spread across her face. "Ha, I'm going to march right into camp with a fish and just WHAM, throw it in her face! I know I'll pay for it later with one of her pranks, but her face will be well worth the mouse-bile in my nest!" She cackled before positively beaming at Rushingtar. "So when do we start?" She fidgeted in her seat, wanting to rush right over to the river.

Rushingstar watched the short display of triumph from her apprentice with curious dark eyes. I was wondering when this would come up.. The leader thought, blinking when Seapaw finished.
"I wouldn't be so cocky if I were you Seapaw." she started off calmly, smiling slightly as she drew a paw over her ear curiously. "You've yet to even catch a fish, and even if you do, it will be for eating, not throwing in other cats faces." She purred, her voice soft and kind. But she couldn't keep the magical laugh that escaped her lips after wards, seeing Seapaw with a fish slapping it in Lilypaw's face was quite a comical image in her mind. She shook her head, tail flicking as she turned on the log.
"But yes, let us start now." She meowed, voice light and thoughtful. "You will be patient while I show you how it is done. Losing your patience will only lead to empty paws." She went on, jumping down easily from the log, and padding over to the river's edge.
She gazed down at her reflection for a few heart-beats, seeing her tabby brown and cream face staring back at her. She smiled and then looked at Seapaw, seeing if she were following. "First of all, you must see if their are fish nearby." She stated calmly, sitting now and keeping her eyes now on the water's surface intently. She saw a silhouette of a fish in the water, it was swimming quite close to the edge, too bad for it though. It's about to be Rushingstar's dinner tonight.
She waited patiently for her excited apprentice to come over to watch her demonstrate, her eyes not leaving the lazy fish swimming beneath the blue depths. the ooc// progress; finished muse; staying strong talking to; Seapaw mood of character(Rushingstar); calm notes; meeeep? Word Count; 300
